Pure Meat在慾望的來回交界中彰顯人存在的狀態
跨域創作《Pure Meat》的名稱發想來自佛教常用術語「三淨肉」(Triple Pure Meat)，指凡不見殺、不聞殺、不疑為我殺的動物之肉佛教徒可食之。不過，宗教、殺生或葷素皆並非本創作所要探討的範疇，《Pure Meat》是希望藉由創作進一步去思考「人」存活在渾沌世界中的價值。
從概念上來說，當肉轉化為可食之“物”前，它乃是眾生。不見殺、不聞殺、不疑為我殺，三者關乎人的眼、耳和心，但人如何判斷三淨？「淨肉」是否成為委婉的措辭，使我們在面對自己的決定或行為所帶來的不安和影響時，得以保持距離，藉此對自己的行為可免於感到厭惡或難以忍受。「淨肉」成為供養肉身與靈魂所依附的中介，在模糊的邊界中找到隱約的出口。
現代人和古代人最大的不同也許在於：古人生活在一種試圖召喚精神性的信念裡，但現實中卻依舊被混沌未明的力量以及各種自然、必然和偶然所宰制。現代人卻恰好相反，我們秉持著啟蒙、理性、經驗實證的信念，但實際上卻生活在一個被外力所宰制的現實世界裡。人們生存在講究系統機制的物化世界中，肉身被馴化，得以在體制中汲汲營營的符合其規範，而轉頭卻必須在精神中求完滿，補漏生命中的缺失。然而，在這弱肉強食的渾世漩渦裡，有一天，人何嘗不是轉身即被反噬的“物”？
索拉舞蹈空間多年來致力於打破藝術的邊線並以創作回應當代人們生存的處境。視覺藝術家潘大謙2024跨域創作《Pure Meat》將在劇場中構築象徵精神與肉體經驗的“場”，使身體在空間中流動、穿梭，並透過聲音、行為、符號與儀式，呈現生存空間中慾望的來回交界，藉此思考「人」存活在渾沌世界中的價值。
The concept behind Pure Meat is derived from the Buddhist term " Triple Pure Meat ",which refers to the meat from animals that are not seen the killing, not heard the killing,and not killed for me. However, the primary focus of this creation is not the above-mentioned issue. Meat aims to use this concept as a means to further contemplate the value of human existence in a chaotic world.
Conceptually, meat is a living thing before it is transformed into an edible object. "not seen the killing, not heard the killing,and not killed for me" These three points are related to human eyes, ears, and heart, but how to judge these three purity? Does "pure meat" becomes a euphemistic term that allows us to distance ourselves when facing the discomfort and impact of our decisions and actions, thus sparing ourselves from feeling repulsive or intolerable towards our own behaviors? “Pure meat” becomes an intermediary for the sustenance of both the physical body and the soul to find a faint exit in the blurred boundaries.
Perhaps the greatest difference between modern and ancient people lies in this: ancient people lived with a belief in attempting to summon the spiritual, yet they were still governed by the chaotic and uncertain forces of the world, as well as various natural, inevitable, and accidental occurrences. Modern people, on the other hand, hold beliefs in enlightenment, reason, and empirical evidence, but they live in a reality controlled by external forces. People exist in a materialized world governed by systemic mechanisms,where their bodies are domesticated to conform to its norms, and yet they must seek fulfillment in their spirits to compensate for the deficiencies in life. In this whirlpool of a world dominated by the weak and the strong, will people one day turn around and become "objects" that are devoured?
The performers' bodies flow, shuttle, and react in a space constituted by material and volume, and through visual, sound, behavioral, symbolic, and ritual elements, they present the strength of the body as an object. Between the spiritual and the “meat “, “pure meat” is both a deconstruction and a possible suture, just like the body—though as flawless as sculpture—can disappear like a bubble at any moment. It represents the reality of people's lives.
