通緝犯大豪準備跑路到阿里山避風頭，在台北車站巧遇逃家少女小珊，決定互為掩護的兩人，假扮父女一起上山。學者志平和妻子君麗長年在阿里山測候站工作，生活枯燥乏味，君麗只能借酒慰藉丈夫埋首工作的寂寞。然而，大豪和小珊的到來悄悄撩動了君麗的心弦，缺乏母愛的小珊待君麗如母，寂寞的君麗被粗獷的大豪深深吸引，大豪則是在山中邂逅了純真少女阿紅後，開始重新思索人生意義，眾人內心的風暴在高山上逐漸醞釀。本片改編潘壘的中篇小說，在封閉山屋中巧妙調度眾人的情感起伏和慾望流動，打造出兼具電影美感與文學氣質的奇作。
It will soon be seven years since Chun-li came to live at the Alishan weather station in the heart of the Taiwanese mountains. Neglected by her husband, she drowns her boredom in alcohol. Her daily life is about to be disrupted by the arrival of a man and a girl who claim to be father and daughter. Captivated by the man and moved by the child, Chun-li feels herself come to life again. However, she does not know that her guests are not who they pretend to be.
